Warranty

Computer Exchange, LTD. (CEL) guarantees all parts and accessories, both new and refurbished, for ninety (90) days from the date of shipment. All printers, accessories and repairs are warranted to function reliably for the same 90-day warranty period. The warranty period begins on the date of shipment and is not dependent on the date of customer inspection. CEL will repair or replace defective items within five days (usually same day) and will ground ship the product to the customer. All warranty return items will be inspected to confirm that the product is correct and eligible for warranty claim; CEL warranty is void if the defective item has been misused or mishandled or shows evidence of attempted repair by another party. Repair warranty is valid only for a defect related to the original repair.

Customers are responsible for returning defective items within the normal warranty period. Returned items must include Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. Credit will not be given for items returned without RMA Number.

Returns

Computer Exchange, LTD. (CEL) believes in a "no hassle" return policy. Please help us facilitate this policy by observing the following guidelines:

  1. Please call your CEL customer service representative before returning any item. Your representative will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and answer any questions you may have about your return and/or replacement.
  2. The RMA number allows us to identify and process your return and issue any credit required. Please write the RMA number on the outside of your return package and include a copy of the original packing slip. CEL will not accept returns without the RMA number.
  3. For defective items, the return must be the same part that was shipped to you.
  4. Returns will be accepted within fourteen (14) days of the RMA date. The RMA expires after 14 days.
  5. Returned items should be packaged in the original or comparable packing materials.
  6. Return packages must be sent prepaid to our address. We will not accept C.O.D. shipments.
  7. Refunds will be issued by the same method of payment as the original purchase.
  8. We do not issue RMA numbers for products damaged due to shipping. We will place a new order for the customer while the carrier is processing the customer’s claim. Please see CEL’s Shipping Policy below for more information.
  9. Good part returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
  10. RMA numbers will not be issued for good part returns after thirty (30) days from date of shipment.

Advance Exchange

To receive parts quickly and minimize your expense, use our Advance Exchange program. Upon receiving your order, we will ship you a working part that will be invoiced at the discounted exchange price. After you receive our part, return your used part (core) to us. Include the sales order number on your packing slip and on the box; parts returned without this sales order number will not be received and will not be credited.

Cores must be the equivalent of the part we are sending to you, and must be repairable – no alterations or physical damage. If the part returned is not eligible for exchange, we will notify you and return the product at your expense or dispose of the product at your direction.

If the eligible core is not returned within 30 days of the date of shipment, the core charge (the difference between the outright sales price and the exchange price) will be invoiced along with a core processing fee. The core processing fee is 20% of the core value or $25.00, whichever is greater. Cores received after 30 days are still subject to the core processing fee.

Terms and Credit Card Advance Exchange orders are invoiced at the exchange price. If the core is not returned within 30 days, the account or credit card will be billed for the core cost and the core processing fee.

COD and Prepaid orders are invoiced at the outright sales price. When the core is returned within the 30 day period, a refund will be issued by the same method of payment used for the original purchase.

Shipping

Orders placed by 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time will usually be shipped on that day; your sales representative will inform you if the product will not be shipped on the day the order is received. For orders received after 6:30 p.m., CEL will attempt to ship same day; the customer will be notified if the order cannot be processed and shipped until a later date.

CEL does not estimate or quote freight. All items will be shipped UPS unless the customer provides an account number for another carrier. These alternative carriers include Federal Express, Airborne Express and DHL.

Federal Express is our carrier of choice and offers the following levels of service:
  • FedEx SaverGround Service - guaranteed 3 day delivery
  • FedEx Economy - guaranteed 2 day Service
  • FedEx StandardOvernight - guaranteed delivery by 3 PM the next day
  • FedEx PriorityOvernight (P1) - guaranteed delivery by 10 AM next day
  • FedEx GroundFreight – shipments over 151 lbs.

If a package is damaged during shipping and the package was shipped on our account, notify CEL immediately. Save all packaging and note damage on your receiver. We will issue you a RMA number, ship a replacement, and process the freight claim.

If a package is damaged during shipping and the package was shipped on your account, please call your carrier and file a claim. RMA’s will not be issued for items damaged during shipping, but, at your request, CEL will process a new order for you.

CEL ships all packages "FOB (freight on board) shipper"; therefore, ownership of the package is transferred to the customer when the product leaves our dock.

Sales Tax

State and local sales tax will be charged on any orders in Georgia unless the customer has a Georgia Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption on file with CEL.
